Poesie is French for Poetry. Between the 13th to 16th centuries it was common to write poetry around wedding, engagement and dress rings. Usually inscribed in Latin or Norman-French, the poesy also adopts other languages and messages to keep the meaning intimate between the giver and receiver of the ring. (Also known as posey, posie, rune or text rings)
